Happiness cannot be traveled to...
"Everyone chases after happiness, not noticing that happiness is right at their heels." - Bertolt Brecht

1) Wake up Early

It has been said time again, how important it is to wake up early every day. It’s good for your health, it’s good for your brain. Yet, for all of us ‘late-night-owls’ this seems a gigantic task. And indeed, it is. But it is not impossible.
The first step you can take is to stop telling to yourself & others “I am not a morning person”,
  • Give sincere compliments to others.
  • Offer your help to those who need it.
  • Try new & different things every day. It could something as small as listening to different genre’s song, drinking more water than usual, or trying new dishes.
  • Forgive others & yourself.
  • Positive self-talk: “I don‘t care what others think, I look amazing today.”, “There‘s nothing that I can‘t do.” or “I am the best (at something).”
  • Meditate: Even for as little as 5 minutes, do it every morning.
  • Walk under sunlight & breathe in that fresh air (in the early hours of the morning).
So invest a little time in making small changes in your life. It will bring you a long-term happiness. For, in the words of Dalai Lama
because even if you’re not (you could be just a lazy as*) this would become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Second step is to sleep early. We know how important it is to stay up at till 2:30am and read posts/tweets about ‘who Ricky  is see these days?’ or ‘how much Alice loves her bff, Saundra!’ But come on, like seriously, is it more important than you & your health?

Next step is, say you wake up at 11:00am, you shouldn't at all set your target to wake up at 05:00am the next morning (even if you want to). You should realize that this is a gradual process & takes time. You cannot (shouldn't) abruptly change your sleeping habit. So if you wake up at 11:00 am, set a target to wake up at say, 10:00am the next few days. Then gradually & sensibly cut an hour (or even minutes) at a regular interval, until you reach five.

Did You Know: Thomas Edison used to sleep on four hours a day?

2) Set up daily goals

Before sleeping, every night, make yourself very clear about what you want to accomplish tomorrow. This task doesn't have to be a massive one.

It could be as small as: Getting a hair cut, calling or visiting an old friend, completing a long-due assignment, cooking, taking a walk on a new route, watching your favorite movie, befriending new people at work or school, bicycling & so on… At the end of the day, upon completing such small tasks (daily-goals), you will feel at least satisfied, if not accomplished, with your day & yourself. And that’s all that matters.

3) Smile

Flash that beautiful smile to everyone & to yourself. Don’t let go of that smile from your face. At first it might seem weird to yourself, let alone others, smiling for no reason- but you will get used to it pretty quickly.

A smile on your face, according to researches, send some kind of positive signal to your brain, which in return releases some hormones, that helps you to stay happy. So smile… smile… smile… Besides everyone loves a person who smile.

4) Weed out the petty people

There is no reason for you to stay along or interact people who doesn't make you happy & feel positive. Now there might obligations, say at school or office, where you have to interact with such people. In such case, keep the communication to the minimum.

Start letting go of such petty people from your social media. Unfriend or unfollow them.

“It is better to be alone than in bad company.” George Washington

5) Adapt the attitude of gratitude

Appreciate everyone and everything. Say ‘thank you’ to people who makes your life awesome. Leave them a thank you note or email. They will love it.

Focus on things you have, rather than the thing which you don’t. Be humble & thankful for those things. It could be as small as: having a smart phone, having a amazing bed, or having an astounding collection of your favorite songs.

6) Exercise

We know how busy everyone is today, but exercising is way to important to skip. It not only improve your physical appearance, but also a great way to release stress.

A good 20 minutes exercise in the morning, everyday, can change your life (literally) around. It helps you stay(feel) positive, fresh & happy all through the day.

7) Other small things
